Pika Energy competed and took home honors in the Northeast Region Semifinals of the 2012 Cleantech Open business plan competition. The Cleantech Open is a national competition with a mission to accelerate clean technology startups. The Pika Energy team showcased alpha prototypes of our T701 home wind turbine and X3001 universal inverter at the event, which was held at the Microsoft New England Research and Development Center in Cambridge, MA. Co-founders Ben Polito and Keith Richtman presented Pika’s pitch to a panel of industry experts, and were selected as one of six startups from a pool of nearly fifty contenders to pitch at the evening gala. At the close of the gala event, the distinguished panel of judges selected Pika Energy to win a $20,000 prize and represent the Northeast region at the Cleantech Open Global Forum in San Jose, November 8 and 9.
Pika Energy’s success at the Cleantech Open regional competition follows on the heels of our first-place finish at Ultralight Startup’s Future Energy pitch competition earlier in the year. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire Pika Energy team. Pika won with the help of our great team of mentors, Avrum, Georg, Jay,
